Air Sensors

Purple Air Sensors Map: Purple Air Sensors a grassroots group with a technical background that wanted to measure the pollution coming from a mining operation. The website and map was started in November 2015. Sharing the data and research with others created a need for more monitors, to expand the network and to test the sensors by collocating them with other monitors.

South Coast AQMD: The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) works closely engaged with the California Air Resources (CARB) and the U.S. EPA to achieve multiple goals promoting reductions in criteria pollutant, greenhouse gases, and toxic risk, as well as efficiencies in energy use, transportation, and goods movement.

California Air Resources Board: The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is charged with protecting the public from the harmful effects of air pollution and developing programs and actions to fight climate change. From requirements for clean cars and fuels to adopting innovative solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, California has pioneered a range of effective approaches that have set the standard for effective air and climate programs for the nation, and the world.
